Not to mention having a maintenance cost to keep out, even if 500 LP is negligible these days. Still, depending on what you hit, it can still be ok I suppose, but yeah, I doubt we’ll see a lot of, if any, play for it because of how easily it can be played around. More than likely, it was meant to prevent Seal of Crushing Evil from being too “broken” or something. During each of your Standby Phases, pay 500 Life Points or destroy this card. The selected card’s effect(s) is negated during that turn. Once per turn, during your opponent’s Standby Phase, select 1 face-up card on the field. In today’s game, Seal of Wickedness just doesn’t stack up. The same can be said for Dark Armed Dragon and a number of other cards. That means they can still easily drop a Judgment Dragon after you’ve played Seal of Wickedness and nuke your field. One of the major problems is that you have to select the card to negate during your opponent’s Standby Phase, giving them the option of playing around the negated card. You can effectively shut down any card on your opponent’s field if Seal of Wickedness has survived through your turn. Personally I love the idea of Seal of Wickedness.
